Insufficient resources played major role in this respect. Thus, activities were focusing on problems associated with agriculture and human activity whereas, their threats to the natural ecosystems left aside.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ethiopia has recognized the urgent need to address the problems of invasive alien plants, and have teamed up with CABI Africa and the World Conservation Union (IUCN) to implement a Regional Project entitled \u201cRemoving Barriers to Invasive plant Management in Africa\u201d involving three other pilot countries: Ghana, Uganda and Zambia. The PDF-A &amp; B phases of the aforementioned \u201cProject\u201d have been successfully implemented and four-year Full Project is now formally approved and jointly funded by the Ethiopian Government and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Studies to identify the threats of invasive plants in Ethiopia have been limited in scope, less insightful, and not sufficiently coordinated.
