The Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute held a discussion forum for the implementation of the BES NET project on December 11, 2023 at the Bishoftu Pyramid Hotel.

The Director General of the institute, Dr. Melesse Maryo, said in his opening speech that Ethiopia has achieved excellent performance in the Ecosystem Survey Phase 1 and the Biodiversity Platform has started the Phase 2 BES NET project, which consists of more than 170 members.

The Deputy Director General of the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, Dr. Feleke Woldeyes, pointed out that the study mainly focused on biodiversity and ecosystem services, and identified the findings and implications of the work being done, the gaps and their interaction.

To implement the study, the TOR (Terms of Reference) showing the content of the study conducted by the three-task force group was presented by the group leaders.

A discussion was held on the comments and questions raised from the platform based on the text presented.
