National Ecosystem Assessment Project Consultative and Orientation Meeting Underway.
National Ecosystem Assessment Project Consultative and Orientation Meeting conducted in Adama, August 28,2018.
On the occasion, Director General of EBI, Dr. Melesse Maryo noted that Ecosystem Assessments act as means for decision support as they respond to information needs, highlight trade-offs, model plausible future scenarios, and engage decision-makers.
Thus, this consultative and orientation meeting aims at raising awareness on the integrated approach of assessing ecosystems and sharing knowledge.
He also said that the information shared from this National Ecosystem Assessment would help to understand better our ecosystems, threats, values and their general scientific assessment approaches.
He further recalled scholars to play a role in contributing on the classification off ecosystems schemes.
On the meeting, presentations were made and discussions were also held.
National Ecosystem Assessment Project aims to build capacity at the national level to undertake national ecosystem assessments and support the uptake of assessments into decision-making.
