Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service Network (BES Net) draft document was presented

A review of the BES NET project draft document of the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute was held at Bishoftu Pyramid Hotel on Friday, January 05, 2024.

The Director General of the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, Dr. Melesse Maryo, said while opening the forum that the BES NET project is of great benefit to the country and thanked the task forces that were working on it.

He added that even though this research has been started for a short time, they expressed their appreciation for the work done with determination by investing their time and knowledge so that the draft document of the project could be submitted for review.

According to Dr. Feleke Woldeyes, the Deputy director general of the institute, various institutes participated in this draft document, and after preliminary preparation for the study, information was collected from various parts of our country and the draft document was prepared with due attention and submitted for review.

Assessment team on matters related to “Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service (BES) “The National Biodiversity Platform- Ethiopia”, “Outputs of the National Ecosystem (NEA) & Development of outreach Materials” documents presented in the platform divided into three main ideas and three sub-ideas. A number of ideas were submitted as input, reviewed and commented upon.
