The Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute held a Quadripartite memorandum of understanding ceremony on February 28, 2025, to facilitate the collection and research of medicinal plants in the Central Ethiopia Regional State.

The agreement was signed by the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, Wachamo University, Armauer Hansen Research Institute, and Wondo Genet Agricultural Research Center at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute conference hall.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Melesse Mario, Director General of the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, Professor Nigussie Dechassa, Director General of the Ethiopian Agricultural Research Institute, Professor Afework Kassu, Director General of the Armauer Hansen Research Institute, and Dr. Sara Shikur, Vice President for Academics, Research, Technology Transfer and Community Service at Wachemo University.

All four entities have shown their commitment to sharing their experiences in the field of medicinal plant breeding and research and to further their research.
